GI
GI wanted to meet their users – from newly diagnosed to relatives and researchers – with relevant and personalized content.
This ambition was hindered by a complex and outdated digital infrastructure, which consisted of a jumble of different systems, including Umbraco, WordPress, and custom-developed code. This "digital spaghetti" made it extremely resource-intensive to maintain and further develop the platforms. The consequence was an inefficient digital presence, where a lack of coherence and slow development time stood in the way of delivering a value-creating and cohesive user experience.

A unified and future-proof platform built on Umbraco
In a close strategic partnership with GI, we designed and developed an entirely new, centralized digital platform. The purpose was to replace the complex architecture with one unified and flexible ecosystem.
The core elements of the solution are:
- Consolidation on Umbraco Cloud: All of GI's 10 websites were gathered on one modern and scalable platform, ensuring a uniform technical base and simplifying maintenance.
- Component-based design: We developed a flexible system of "building blocks" that enables GI's editors to build engaging and visually varied pages themselves without being dependent on developers.
- CRM integration: The platform is deeply integrated with GI's CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics), which is the technical foundation for delivering personalized content and targeted user journeys in the future.
Increased agility and a strong foundation for digital growth
The new platform has transformed GI's digital opportunities and created significant business value.
-
Faster time-to-market: The development time for new initiatives has been significantly reduced, enabling the organization to react quickly to new needs.
-
Strengthened editor experience: Editors have been freed from technical limitations and can now focus on creating valuable content.
-
Future-proof and scalable: The new architecture provides a solid foundation that can support GI's digital ambitions for many years to come.
-
Reduced complexity: By gathering everything on one platform, the technical costs and administrative burden have been significantly reduced.
