When Cphbusiness and KEA merged into the new organization EK, leadership faced a massive communication task.
The merger brought together approximately 900 employees across 13 physical locations into a single new entity. The challenge was to create one common entry point that didn't just function as a static reference tool, but as a living platform capable of binding a geographically dispersed organization together and supporting the creation of a new, shared identity.

Working closely with Compent, EK chose to implement and scale the Uintra platform. Uintra was selected because the system prioritizes social dynamics and employee involvement over traditional systems.
Our shared approach focused on:
- Social Dynamics: Implementing a social feed that follows social media conventions, ensuring a minimal barrier to sharing content.
- Decentralized Ownership: Employees were given the tools to define the culture themselves through photos and stories from their daily lives across the 13 locations.
- Technical Ownership: A robust Umbraco solution hosted in EK's own environment, ensuring full data ownership and GDPR compliance.
A Vibrant Pulse in a New Organization
The rollout has led to a fundamental transformation of internal communication at EK. Today, the platform acts as EK's common nervous system, providing a single entry point for updated information across the entire organization, resulting in a more streamlined information flow between locations.
The most noticeable effect is the creation of a "pulse," where engagement is no longer solely top-down but emerges organically from the employees themselves. By giving 900 colleagues the freedom to share their stories, visibility across the organization has been achieved in a way that was previously impossible.
Specific outcomes include:
- Cultural Cohesion: The platform has served as the central engine in the integration process, merging two different cultures into one unified EK.
- Higher Employee Engagement: With the social feed, activity has increased significantly as employees now take ownership of their own narratives without prior approval.
- Operational Efficiency: Moving to one common channel has minimized "noise" and ensured that vital information reaches all 900 employees quickly and accurately.
- Data Security and Control: EK has gained full control over their internal knowledge and communication flow by hosting the solution on their own servers.
Technical Stability and Scaling: The system has proven its worth by seamlessly handling the total number of users and locations without loss of performance or usability.
