BIOFOS
BIOFOS treats wastewater for 1.2 million inhabitants in the capital region – a mission-critical task that requires 24/7 monitoring and stable operation.
Their existing systems for logging incidents and carrying out inspections were based on manual entries in Excel and disjointed data sources. This created an inefficient process where it was difficult to get a complete overview of the plant's status in real-time. The lack of a centralized and digitized system posed a significant risk of errors, delayed responses, and ineffective knowledge sharing between shifts.

A centralized and customized system for shift and inspection reporting
In a close partnership with BIOFOS, we developed a custom-built, web-based platform that gathers and digitizes all processes related to shift logging and inspections. The solution is designed to provide a complete real-time overview and ensure structured data collection.
The platform's core elements are:
- Digital Shift Log: All incidents, observations, and actions are now registered in a central system, ensuring a complete and chronological overview that can be easily handed over between shifts.
- Structured Inspection Reports: Inspection and control tasks are performed via a guided, digital process that ensures uniform and comprehensive data collection directly from a tablet out at the plant.
- Central Overview: A unified dashboard provides an immediate overview of the plant's status, ongoing tasks, and any alarms.
- Integration with SCADA systems: The system is prepared for integration with BIOFOS's central SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to connect manual observations with machine data.

Strengthened operational reliability and data-driven insight
The new platform has transformed BIOFOS's operational monitoring by replacing manual and fragmented processes with a streamlined, digital workflow.
- Improved Operational Reliability: The complete real-time overview makes it possible to react faster and more precisely to incidents, minimizing the risk of operational disruptions.
- Streamlined Knowledge Sharing: Knowledge is now transferred in a structured and unambiguous way between shifts, reducing the risk of information loss.
- Higher Data Quality: The structured data collection creates a solid and uniform data foundation that can be used for analysis, optimization, and statutory documentation.
- Time Savings: The digitization of manual processes has freed up time for employees, who can now focus on core tasks.
